Framed Textile Art Croagh Patrick
Framed Textile Art Croagh Patrick
Each landscape tells a story. Croagh Patrick is a mountain in Co Mayo climbed by many as a pilgrimage.
Each piece is made on cotton that is printed with my design and then stitched by machine and by hand. A layer of wadding is added to create a relief effect after stitching
Each textile art piece is in a quality Irish white wooden and glass box frame 31cm by 31cm with a picture opening of 14cm by 14cm. The frame has an adjustable metal hook on the back to allow for hanging.
Anita creates ceramics and textiles in her studio overlooking the green pastures of the Royal County close to the heritage town of Trim. Her work is inspired by the meadows, canals, bogs, gardens and historical heritage of Ireland.
She is a graduate of the National College of art and Design Dublin. After qualifying in textiles and ceramics she went on to teach and spent 25 years in the classroom.
She is now working full time as an artist and makes art that is joyful colourful and positive and I hope to spread some of my love for our beautiful precious natural world through my art.
