LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT…..

I love this time of year. For me the 1st of November starts the countdown to Christmas. The evenings are getting dark early and it begins to feel more festive everyday. This is the time for lighting the fire and getting down to making the Christmas list, looking for that perfect party dress and making plans with family and friends.

The deadline for posting parcels will soon be upon us and with my sisters all over the world…
7th Dec Parcels and letters round the world and parcels to USA
11th/12th Dec Letters to USA and Parcels to Europe
18th Letters to Europe and Parcels and Letters to UK
21st Letters and Parcels in Ireland

We've been working hard to bring you a fantastic range of handmade gifts for everyone on you list and our little gift guide will be out later this week. As ever we have some fantastic gifts made in Mayo and all over the country - perfect for those loved ones who won't make it home for the festive season. From food hampers to decorations I'm always amazed how much is made right on our doorstep.

Our very popular 1/2 price offers will run each week but be sure to get in there quick as we sold out of many of the items last year. And of course the Belmullet Christmas market and our usual festival season events will get you in the mood.

First job on the list the new window….!! Only 54 days to go but don't panic. Pop in to us and we can help you get Christmas all wrapped up.

When I was a child the drama of sending cards was week long. But it's something I remember doing with my mam. She'd write to all the relations in Ireland and America with a greeting and good wishes and she'd leave the cards on the table so he could write them to his work mates. And all he would put it 'frank' and not even with a capital F. I wonder now if it was a ploy to get out of writing the big batch of cards. I'd take the cards out of the box I liked to send to my friends and agonise over

It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the most wonderful time of the year

I absolutely love this time of the year. It's a great time and I talk to people in the shop and try and contain my excitement a little. I do talk to quite a few people that don't like it and a lot who find it quite stressful but I think the key to enjoying Christmas is planning it and having a list. Your plan will get you through and so you will be able to sit back and have a very well deserved glass of wine!!
